Timber Joinery Warranty
Care & Handling
- Handle the window unit carefully and inspect for any damage or manufacturing faults.
All painting and oiling should be done professionally. - Seal all surfaces with the first priming or sealing coat using an oil-based primer, paying attention to the top and bottom edges.
- When painting, a four-coat system should be used (primer, undercoat, and two top coats).
- For clear finishing, a 3 or 4-coat system should be used. The lighter the colour, the better, as dark colours attract heat, leading to cracking and shrinkage, voiding the guarantee.
- To seal the beading on a window or sash with glass, paint or stain at least 1mm onto the glass surface.
5-Year Guarantee The exterior window guarantee is valid for 5 years, provided the following conditions are met:
- Coat all sides, including top and bottom, immediately according to paint manufacturer recommendations.
- Use only oil-based paint.
- Only use paint with a light reflective value over 40%—NO DARK PAINT.
Recommendations:
- Do not use water-based products.
